Cotton candy sweet & low – Let me see you tootsie roll! Anyone remember who sang tootsie roll? Hey, if you sang that you’re definitely my people haha. This weekend was much needed after diving back into school. It’s been a good, but overwhelming start to the year. So much I have the hang of, but new challenges to really overcome quickly. So grab ya partner get on the dance floor and see what happened this weekend!
A weekend adventure can be such as fun as exploring what is happening locally here in Virginia. Despite living here most of my life and even married life – there is so much to do. I we’re able the weekend means sleeping in, exploring Woodbridge, VA and doing ALL the weekend things! Yes even with kids you can have a great time locally.
Oh I felt a whoop come on!
Are your kids into martial arts? Well we finally got to check out a local place for a birthday part. This truly was my favorite part of the weekend. The party was held at Life Champs Martial Arts, which is a karate studio about 10 minutes away from our home. Honestly, who knew it was that close!
The boys did an amazing job and even got to break a wooden board each! I was extremely impressed. The party allowed for each child to try various moves and techniques. To watch the boys live out their LEGO ninja ideas in real life was quite the site to see.
Oh Cotton Candy…sweet & low
We ended the evening just barely missing the Fall Festival at our local town center. While grabbing a bite to eat, I spotted one of my to die for sweet treats – cotton candy. There’s an adorable candy shop we haven’t visited yet called The Sweet Society. If you’re local it’s a must!
Y’all, I’ve eaten an extensive amount in my 30 plus years, but THIS cotton candy was phenomenal. They even have pina colada flavor! It was delicious, more than delicious. I will be returning, since it’s all-year-round! They have more than just cotton candy, the entire store is filled with nostalgic treats that I LOVE.
Did you have any fun highlights from the weekend? Were you able to rest and somewhat relax? I hope so! If you’re local to our area, share some great kids spots I’m always looking!

We were still cleaning up after hurricane Dorian. Fortunately our area was not hit as hard as some places. But, the wind and rain were awful. The mail is being delivered again and that makes me happy. 🙂
