Carving quality time with my kids as a work away from home mom

As our Christmas break comes to a close, I’m filled with a lot of gratefulness. Unfortunately everyone was sick the majority of our break, I mean really sick. From stomach flu to RSV it’s been one quarantined holiday. It ended up being a serious blessing in disguise. We laughed a lot, cleaned from top to bottom, purged our way through endless piles, and did probably what we’ve always wanted to do during a long break…rest.

Not just naps (which were great), but actually rest. No major working or talking about ministry/jobs which is tough when your life is significantly ministry based. Mike and I did lots of reflections of 2018 when the kids were fast asleep, along with hopes for what we desire for this new year. I’m not one for yearly lists and I’ve tried to do one little words – yet I feel like this year is pivotal for us and we’ve known for some time.

For now I will pen down my thoughts and aspirations, major and minor changes, all while holding dear to those things that won’t fade. So here are a few simple mom snapshots of our break. We wore pjs like it was our job and have had a blast in the midst of it all. Praying you enjoyed your Christmas and hoping an awesome few more days for you before 2019!!
