Our big boy is 6!
If you know Kai you know he loves a great party AND he loves hotels. With traveling for ministry events, we do our best to bring the boys with us so they can experience what we do. As challenging as staying in a hotel with 3 kids can be, I have to say it’s quite fun.
We spent our weekend away at the National Harbor, which allowed for us to explore some local fun for a change. The original plan was to head to the beach, but between traffic and distance we opted to stay close to home. I have to say the National Harbor is really cool. From shops to the ferry and even an open game of corn hole we had plenty to do.
To imagine our boy being six is crazy to me. He is the greatest joy in our lives, and the best big brother. Kai is thoughtful, extremely smart, giving, and incredibly witty. He is coming into his own young boy, and my heart is excited yet aches at the transition.
This year he wanted a Nintendo DS, which I did not want to get… We aren’t a “no screens” family, but introducing a lot of technology makes me hesitant. I never want the boys to become so dependent on technology that they forget to use their imagination. Without a lot of prompting from my husband, and reminding me that we are the parents who set the tone – we got him one. To see his face was worth it.
Happy sweet sixth birthday boo, we adore and love you to the moon and back.
